It’s almost as if society just expects us to be born knowing how to have happy, healthy, loving and successful, long-lasting relationships… without ever taking the time to truly educate or inform us of anything. 

Despite growing up in arguably the #1 most abundant and prosperous time that we’ve ever seen as a species:

Not a single person seems to have thought that it was important for us, as a culture, to provide people with any level of education about love and relationships, or even something as simple and foundational as communication or emotional intelligence. Even though we have seen / despite having numerous studies come out over the last 30 years that have said that EQ is more important than IQ / higher predictor correlation to success.

And recent studies from Harvard that have shown that the #1 greatest impact on your life satisfaction / link to the highest correlation of life satisfaction is the success  of your relationship / life partner. And yet, we’ve never been taught a single thing about love & relationships in schools, colleges or universities. Meanwhile, we get our brains crammed full of useless information that the majority of us will never even use (nor will ever even be able to remember or recall for that matter, at any point in our lives)

Yet, something as important & critical to our success and long-term happiness, both as individuals & as a society at large, seems to get completely overlooked. It’s almost as if we don’t seem to care very much about it, or at least not until it’s already too late and you’re sitting in the counselors office or at divorce court. If that’s not maddening, I don’t know what is. This used to bother the living shit out of me (and it still does, if I’m being 100% honest with you). However, instead of being angry and bitter about it, I decided to do something different. First and foremost, I took responsibility for learning these things on my own.  

Over the last 15 years, I have invested over $250,000 in my education and training and my own personal growth and development, both in the areas of love and relationships, as well as communication, facilitation, coaching, leadership, as well as deep personal growth and transformation work.  

BTW: this is not counting any costs I paid for any formal schooling or training or college education. This is just what I invested in my own personal growth and development over the years doing everything I could find that I believed would be of great assistance to me, whether it was going to certain workshops and trainings, doing several different forms of coaching and therapy, working with dozens of coaches and counselors and psychotherapists, as well as doing 8 in-depth year long leadership training and facilitation programs, not to mention the hundreds of books and communication courses, workshops, retreats, books, online courses, audiobooks, interviews, online membership communities, etc… and the list can go on and on.
